In Edmonton, Halloween is usually cold. It can be anywhere from 5 degrees Celsius to -15 degrees Celsius and snow up to a foot high; so being a haunter or Trick-or-Treater you must be prepared for those kinds of elements.
I was born and raised in Edmonton Alberta Canada. All of my life, Halloween has been a special and creative one. My mother made our costumes. They were not store bought like other kids, so we always had a unique way to go out Trick-or-Treating.
I am an artist by trade. I carve, paint and make props out of giant pieces of styrofoam. I have also worked in a factory that makes and designs mascots.
I make most of my props but some however are store bought. Usually the store bought ones I enhance or put them into a scene. I try and change my themes from year to year or add to them to make them better. None of the visitors know what to expect, except to be scared or visually stimulated.
Every Halloween, I am a part of a festival that goes on in Edmonton called the Scarecrow Festival. I create decorations for a carnival like atmosphere centered around Halloween themes.
